THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE INVESTING - THINKING STRATEGICALLY

Finding exploitable investment opportunities do not mean it’s easy to make money, however, to do so requires an ability to consistently, patiently and slavishly stick with a strategy, even when it’s performing poorly relative to other methods. Successful investors do not comply with nature they defy it.
The path to achieving investment success is to study long term results and find a strategy or group of strategies that make sense. Remember to consider risk (The standard deviation of return) and choose a level that is acceptable then stay on the path.
To succeed let history guide you successful investors looks at history, they understand and reacts to the present in terms of past. Yesterday and tomorrow as well as today make up their now.
Hills and valleys are part of every investment scheme and are to be expected and not feared.
Thinking strategically means understanding and planning for the implications of decisions. It means being proactive, not reactive.
Change is our opportunity, without change they can be no progress. Value will be our competitive advantage. In a competitive world, we expect our customers to demand more for less.
Innovation in everything will be our challenge. We deliver outstanding values to our customers if we are innovative in anything we do.

CONSEQUENCE BASED THINKING VERSUS SITUATION BASED THINKING
Consequence based thinking means making decisions that are influenced and driven by desired consequences rather than limited by the situation you take.  Everyone plays a role in contributing to outcome. Great outcome feel like shared victories.
It is necessary to make mistakes to achieve success. With every attempt to create a working light bulb, Edison did not see failures, but rather recognize he was getting closer to the desired end.

Typically decision that people make and action people take are driven by responding to situations. The situation defines and limit their views of the possibilities and they end up doing “what’s possible based on their situation.
Consequence based thinking however insist that the desired consequences be the main driver of the decisions or actions, independent of the current situation. Consequence based thinking create solutions that are limited by the situation.

Situation based thinking comes from our situation. People in any situation typically base their decisions on one of two things. The situation they face or the consequences they face.
We believe those who are more consistently able to make decisions based on “desired consequences get more of what they want from life and work.
The ability to make decisions based on desired consequences is called consequence based thinking. While the ability to make decision based on the situation at hand is called situation based thinking.
